Critical Notice: WeedorNOT is an AI-powered plant identification tool, not a licensed lawn care professional. Always read herbicide labels before applying — wrong products can kill your lawn.

1. Acceptance

By using WeedorNOT, you agree to these Terms.

2. How It Works

WeedorNOT is a client-side web application. You provide your own Groq API key. All processing happens between your browser and Groq's API. There is no WeedOrNOT server.

3. NOT Professional Lawn Care Advice

WeedorNOT is NOT a substitute for:

A licensed lawn care professional or certified arborist
Reading the label on any herbicide product before applying
Local county extension office plant identification services
Professional soil testing and lawn assessment

AI identification may be incorrect — confirm before applying herbicides. Using the wrong product on the wrong grass type can damage or kill your lawn.

4. Herbicide Safety

Important herbicide disclaimers:

Always read and follow the product label — it is the law
Selective herbicides kill specific weed types; non-selective herbicides kill everything
Using a broadleaf herbicide on a broadleaf lawn (like St. Augustine) will kill the lawn
Pre-emergent herbicides prevent seeds from germinating — they will also prevent grass seed
Follow all local regulations regarding herbicide use and application

5. No Guarantees

Results may be incomplete or inaccurate due to:

Very young seedlings that lack identifying features
Poor lighting or blurry photos
Rare regional plants not well-represented in training data
Plants in unusual growth stages or dormancy
AI misidentifying similar-looking species

6. Your API Key

You are responsible for your own Groq API key and its usage.

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use WeedorNOT for:

Identifying plants for human consumption without expert verification
Making herbicide decisions for commercial agricultural operations without professional guidance
Automated bulk queries or API abuse
Any purpose that violates applicable laws

8. Limitation of Liability

WeedorNOT is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for:

Lawn damage from incorrect herbicide application
Misidentification of plants (including toxic plants identified as edible)
Decisions made based on tool results
Any injury or property damage resulting from use of this tool
